Monno Medical College Hospital had the privilege of welcoming a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) to its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on their recent visit. The occasion marked a significant step in strengthening global collaboration to improve maternal and child healthcare services in Bangladesh.
The WHO delegates were warmly received by the hospital’s Principal, Director, senior consultants, and NICU specialists. During their tour, the team closely observed the advanced facilities, neonatal care protocols, and modern equipment used in the unit. They also reviewed the hospital’s standard practices for managing premature and critically ill newborns, infection control measures, and the implementation of evidence-based neonatal care guidelines.
The delegates expressed their appreciation for the hospital’s dedicated efforts in ensuring high-quality care for vulnerable newborns. They praised the commitment of the NICU team in maintaining international standards of neonatal care and emphasized the importance of continuous training for doctors, nurses, and supporting staff.
In addition, discussions were held on opportunities for future collaboration with WHO, particularly in capacity building, knowledge exchange, and technical support for further strengthening neonatal and maternal healthcare services.
The visit by WHO delegates reaffirmed Monno Medical College Hospital’s commitment to providing world-class healthcare services for mothers and children, while also contributing to Bangladesh’s ongoing efforts to reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality rates.
