Department of Anatomy
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Iqbal is a distinguished anatomist and accomplished medical academic with over 25 years of teaching and research experience in the field of anatomy. He is currently serving as a professor in the Department of Anatomy at Monno Medical College, Bangladesh. He obtained his MBBS from the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) and earned his MPhil in Anatomy from Bangladesh Medical University (BMU, formerly BSMU). Dr. Iqbal began his teaching career as a lecturer at USTC, later serving as an assistant professor at International Medical College before joining Monno Medical College in 2014 as an associate professor (CC). Through dedication and academic excellence, he rose to the position of professor, mentoring and inspiring countless medical students.
His research interests include facial anthropometry, osteology, and the pathology and genetics of breast tissue and gastric carcinoma. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and presented at numerous national and international conferences. Beyond teaching and research, Prof. Dr. Iqbal plays an active role in medical education governance, serving as a regular examiner for postgraduate examinations under BMU and conducting undergraduate professional examinations under the University of Dhaka. Renowned for his leadership, mentorship, and dedication to excellence, he continues to make significant contributions to the development of anatomical sciences and the training of future generations of physicians.
