Department of Microbiology
Dr. Sharmeen Sultana is an associate professor in the Department of Microbiology at Monno Medical College, Manikganj, Bangladesh. She earned her MBBS from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College under the University of Dhaka and completed her M. Phil in Microbiology from Dhaka Medical College under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Her academic journey began at Aichi Medical College as an assistant professor and head of microbiology. In 2019, she joined Monno Medical College and was promoted to associate professor in 2023. Alongside teaching, she has provided laboratory consultancy services and gained wide experience in diagnostic microbiology.
Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, biofilm formation, and clinical microbiology. She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences. She has also participated in professional training programs on antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, scientific writing, and medical education. Dr. Sharmeen holds life memberships in BSMM, ASM, and the Microbiology Society.
