A focused discussion session titled “Discussion Session on Lesson Plan for Faculty Development” was successfully organized by the Medical Education Unit (MEU) of Monno Medical College on 09 November 2025, from 10.00 am to 11.00 am at the MEU Meeting Room.
Faculty members and heads of all pre-clinical and para-clinical departments participated spontaneously in the session, which significantly highlighted the importance of this program for academic capacity building.
Dr. Sawana Haque, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, conducted the presentation on “Lesson Plan.” She elaborated on the fundamental components and steps of preparing a well-structured lesson plan and discussed Gagne’s Events of Instructional Design as a guiding framework for effective teaching.
The objective of this session was to enhance clarity among teachers regarding the importance of lesson planning and its proper application for improved learning outcomes. Participants exchanged their practical experiences, identifying how theoretical understanding together with practical implementation can improve teaching effectiveness in classroom settings.
Participants also shared views on overcoming barriers in the teaching-learning process and ensuring more effective and engaging delivery. Their active participation made the session more interactive and meaningful.
The Medical Education Unit (MEU) expressed appreciation to all concerned for their valuable participation. It is expected that such continuous initiatives of MEU will further strengthen the teaching-learning environment of the college, and the students will be greatly benefited.
